MHK launches its new consumer-friendly website
After nearly a year of planning and preparation, the shareholders and staff of MHK Insurance are excited to see the launch of the company’s new website, which is intended to reflect the beliefs, attitudes and abilities of the people who work for the company.
“We’ve put a lot of time and effort into developing a web presence that we hope will make our current employees proud, serve the needs of our current clients, as well as highlight all the reasons why MHK should become your brokerage of choice,” says Michelle Rose, manager of communications and corporate relations.
By continuing to build upon the website content in order to provide consumers with exactly what they’re looking for, “we’re hoping visitors will provide their ideas and suggestions on how to make the site even better and more responsive to their needs,” says Rose.
With nearly 100 years in the business, MHK has built a reputation for having a personal approach, seeking out ways to improve and be more responsive, and then adapting to the needs of our clients. “Our new website should be no exception,” says Jeff Homynyk, president and chief executive officer. “We’re going to ensure that whatever feedback we receive to make our site more effective and user friendly is implemented as quickly as possible.”
Any suggestions or feedback on the website content can be sent to mrose@mhkinsurance.com.

Long-time MHK employee strives to make a difference in Honduras
On January 20, Judi Meindertsma, a commercial account manager who’s been with MHK Insurance for almost 15 years, joined 11 other members of Edmonton’s West End Christian Reformed Church to travel to southwestern Honduras on a mission to work in a few small villages, including El Naranjo.
As a group, they will continue in the ongoing efforts to assist the local people in creating healthy living environments, which includes building cement floors and pilas (small pools that hold water for either cooking or washing purposes) and latrines.
“We’re so proud of where Judi is right now, and her commitment to doing whatever she can to improve the lives of those so far away,” says Ruby-Lynn De Leske, manager of Commercial Client Services. “It’s just another example of the tremendous people we have working with us, and the commitment they demonstrate both in and out of work.”
Meindertsma will spend 10 days in Honduras, living and working side by side with the locals who she is there to help.
